Default Upgrades on the Carnival Pride

As many of you may know, i'm going on the Carnival Pride in a few days. I booked one of the cheaper rooms, and may be looking to upgrade. How exactly does this work? Should I call now, or wait until I get on the ship. Do upgrades cost the "normal" price of the room, or are they cheaper the closer you get to departure?

I would call ASAP, normally when you get to the ship, there are no cabins to upgrade to. Sometimes as you get closer to your departure, you can get an upgrade at a savings, just ask and find out now.
