Disney Cruises...The Wonder
Hello! I am taking my children on a 7 night western Caribbean cruise on the Disney Wonder leaving Galveston, Texas next fall 2013. We leave the port, at sea for two days, than Jamaica, than Cayman Islands, than Mexico and than two days at sea and than back to Texas.

Here is my question: It was my mistake, but I'm somewhat sad that we won't be able to experience Castaway Cay. I really, really wanted to try it out but I guess it can be saved for another time.

#1) Can I have a overall good trip without the Castaway Cay? :(

#2) When looking at excursions on the ports - I seen many different beaches I can pay for the kids and I to go and lay around in. However, I was wondering if I have to pay in order to go to a beach or if those ports have free public beaches we can go on right on the port?

I am brand new to cruising - this will be my first cruise and I'm confused at all this. Thank you!

I love Castaway Cay, but your itinerary sounds like a blast too.

Most places will also have public beaches. Folks with more local experience with your ports will likely chime in soon.

Going to the Disney land with a family is a very good idea. Your holiday plan looks very good to me. I think that your family and kids will be able enjoy themselves and have a great time. Do share your experiences.

You probably should have asked under Disney.

No, Castaway Cay is NOT a big deal compared to the rest of your cruise. Every osland in the Caribbean has great beaches for you to visit.

Even on Castatway Cay you would be expected to pay extra for many things (snorkeling) so why nt just go to a good beach is Cozumel, etc.

Disney ships are more about the vessels, the shows and kids programs, not the destinations.

However, the Galveston cruises are selling at a good price, so it is worth going. Have fun.

Trying to Help
It is very important to plan about this cruise since you have said this your first time and your kids will be there as well. I would personally suggest that you must look for a good and trusted travel agencies who can give you the right and exact informations about this cruise of yours. Of course, you want this is to be memorable and a hassle-free trip. So better to have someone who can give you an idea about it and at the same time, an agency who can provide you with travel services and travel arrangements that would be beneficial and helpful for this first cruise of yours.
