I have been on several cruises before on Princess, Holland-American, RCL and MSC . I have been warned several time by different people on cruises to stay away from Carnival Cruise line. However, Carnival is offer two cruises that I am interested in going on. One is to Norway and the other is Transatlantic both are in September and leave from Dover. I travel alone so it can get expensive. Both cruises are affordable to me but I am weary of Carnival Cruise Line especially after the recent problems their ships have had. My feeling is you get what you pay for. MSC line was fine with me the staff was moderately pleasant and the ships was more than adequate. I imaged that carnival was the same however the folk i met on the MSc cruises said the most horrible stuff about carnival & its staff. I was wondering if I get some more advice on cruise lines. The Princess has a transaltantic cruise that sort of what i wanted but it is far more expensive but I do what to expect with that cruise line. thoughts?
I think there are cruisers out there that put there noses down at Carnival, & most probably, they have not sailed the line at all. There is cruise line snobbery out there.
The comment you made abour MSC, "moderately pleasant" is something I have not seen on my Carnival cruise..Their staff has been "most pleasant"
For your purposes on these wonderful cruise options, the affordability for you is good, and you will get good value for your dollar. The worst service I ever had was on HAL,and they pride themselves on it too!
I think you will be happily surprised.
