So I am thinking of going on a cruise next year and am wondering about how to getting a roommate works.
i know on this site there is a section to look for a roommate but when you find one then what? Does one of you need to buy both tickets and hope the other person doesn't change there mind before they pay you?
can you both pay for your self and still share a room?
If you book through a cruiseline direct or with an agent they can split the bill so you both pay half and don't need to share credit card info or anything like that. I have done it 4 or 5 times and not had any issues.
I would recommend booking past final payment date so they can't cancel without loosing 50% or more of the payment. For short cruises its usually 60 days, longer ones 75-90. You can book further out but it would be a higher risk they may change their mind after you have already booked flights etc.
Make sure to discuss things like if they snore, if they are up late or up out early usually, if you just want to share a room or spend time together or do the same excursions etc.
