Obviously, I'm prejudice on the matter, but anytime you're thinking of doing travel for the first time, especially on a cruise, you really need to talk with a cruise specialist. They can help answer all your questions and help you find the best cruise for you based on your lifestyle, requirements, and budget. Everyone is different and everyone's needs are different, so what works for one, may not work for another.

A cruise specialist does not charge anything for their services, but they do represent all the various cruise lines, so their main interest is in what's best for you.

So don't book directly with the cruise line or some online site. Deal with someone who you can build a working relationship with.

Let us know if you have any questions as there are some wonderful people here that will be happy to provide you their opinion.

Send a message via ICQ to Trip

Because you want to cruise quite soon, I agree, you really need to speak with a cruise specialist to help you along, with the ins and outs.

Ships that have all inclusive liquor, are quite expensive, another thing to consider, but you can buy wine packages on board for some savings...your bar tabs will include the tip, just an FYI...

Let us know what ship, and ports of call you end up with, and we can help you with specific questions..

You mention you want to cruise for your birthday in a few weeks. Most cruises will require a passport. Talk to a cruise travel agent and they can fill you in on what you need. Cheers
