Plan to go from New Orleans to Cozumel on a short first time cruise to see if hubby can stand it. Major fear is rough seas. What is the best time of year for calmest seas? Also, any way to get a discount on Carnival? Thanks in advance.
For better prices, best not to go when kids are out of school, spring break, etc....Hurricane season starts, I believe in June and goes through late fall, so you may want to avoid that time of year....I love going in the spring, still cold at home and beautiful in the Carribean....
Best bet, is to start checking prices for different weeks that you are available and go from there....
For the best deals, talk to your agent, preferably a Cruise Specialist.
As for when to go, as Donna stated, hurricane season officially goes from June 1st to November 30th. But that's not to say Mother Nature goes by the schedule.
Personally, we like to go from the weekend after Thanksgiving until about a week before Christmas. Great rates, calm seas, warm weather, and not alot of children.
February and March can also be a nice time to go, but prices are usually a bit higher than they are after Thanksgiving.
