First class room without first class service

Many airlines have added "Economy Plus" seats with additional legroom and slightly higher rates than regular economy. However these seats are the same width of other economy seats. How much would you pay for "expanded economy" seats that are wider than regular economy but you receive the same service as the rest of us unwashed, huddled masses?

For a short flight, I would not pay much.

We have been able to fly business-class to Europe on our last six trips. We have quite a few frequent-flyer miles and we use them on longer flights to get first or business-class.
Unfortunately we just don't get any service on short domestic flights.

On my last USA domestic flights I have managed to obtain upgrades to these seats for zilch as I was prepared to accommodate a family who wished to sit together - works for me

There is quite a bit of extra legroom.

I would pay slightly more for expanded seats that have more legroom and are wider. I am a tall woman and my long legs feel captive even no matter where I am sitting. Even flying with air miles in first class..My legs never felt like they had enough room. So for whatever extra room I can get - length or width..I'd pay a little extra for it..Just not first or business class prices..
