Does anyone know what the specific rules for blackjack are on Explorer of the Seas? Can you double down on a split? Is there a surrender option? Is there insurance? How many times can you split? Also, are the roulette wheels standard, American double-zero wheels?
Reef.. I don't play roulette, so can't help there. Now Blackjack.. I know..
U can split up to 4 times except for aces (only once) and u can double down on any two cards. They do offer insurance, and do not offer surrender. Though IMHO if u want to surrender, just walk by the tables handing them your money.. same effect.
Thanks Kuki! Those are the rules I was hoping for . I agree about surrender, and have never played with that variation, though I understand that there are one or two situations where you can decrease your losses effectively if it's an available option. I plan on playing mostly craps anyway. House advantage is the lowest there (probably the reason there's only one craps table :-) ).
the only time to surrender is on a 16 and dealer showing a ten or ace, and on a 15 with dealer showing an ace, if i remember correctly......you win more hands in the long run if you do so....but probably not by much...
Surrender is a very important option. It reduces the house edge by about 0.07%. Also importantly, it reduces your variance, meaning your ups and downs will be smaller.
The correct strategy is to surrender with 16 against 9, 10, or A and 15 against 10. Also, if dealer hits soft-17, surrender with 17 against A (yes, 17). These hands have less than a 25% chance of winning, making surrender a better option in the long run.
One thing about RCCL. On top of using 8D the dealer hits a soft 17 which realy ratchets up the house advantage.
There was a single deck game with $25 min I think. That would be were I would go if I had the BR.
