After assessing my average bets and my time spent playing in the casino on the Triumph for 2 weeks last month, I came home and joined the Ocean Player's Club and after reading Kuki's article this morning, I wish I had done it prior to that cruise - I may have had a hefty credit to use on my cruise on the Pride next week. As Kuki wrote, the points are based on time spent playing and "average" bets - I started off at the $5 minimum tables then as I won, I got braver and moved to the higher minimum tables. You don't have to win to earn points - you just have to play. I would not suggest you join if you are not a regular gambler or if you think it will cause you to risk more than you should in order to earn points. But it is definitely an option for "free money:"
Sorry to hear you found out about the club AFTER your last cruise! When you sail on the Pride, make sure you tell the pit personnel that you want to be rated for the club. Also, if you email the players club site and let us know which date you are sailing, we can notify the ship to expect you.
I joined the Ocean Players Club on my last cruise on Carnival- I liked the gifts we received. I also made some cash and some points for my next cruise on Holland America on Nov.10
I can tell you the casino will see a lot of me. I should have my reservation # next week and then will get in touch with my pitboss from the last cruise. He has been great to response.
