Dawn Princess - Purchase Chips?

I know that you are set up with a ship board account and we will set this up with our charge card. My question is can you purchase chips with cash in the casino or do you have to charge them to your ship board account?

I am sure Princess is not different then the others. I have been on Celebrity and Carnival and chips can be purchased with cash. In fact from what I've seen most are bought that way.

On Carnival, just recently, they charge you a 3% surcharge to get chips on your shipboard account. Expect the other lines to follow.

Actually Princess was sadly first... have charged 3% surcharge for chips on the sail and spend card for quite awhile now.

Unfortunately, Carnival followed suit. Doesn't really make alot of sense. They are loosing those potential impulse gamblers, who'd play if they could get a few $ on the charge card.
