Kuki can you redeem your'e OPC money on a short cruise? In other words if you took a 7 day cruise and got alot of points and are scheduled for a short cruise...can you get your cash say on a 3 day cruise?

Yes, you can cash in your OPC points on a shorter cruise. I have done this several times.

I believe that you can also cash in Carnival OPC points on Holland America.

Ok, here is a dumb question....what is OPC?

I have only done some gambling in Atlantic City and that was YEARS ago. How does the gambling work on a Carnival Cruise. Do you play with cash or do you buy chips/tokens with your sign and sail card?

Hi Dale. OPC stands for Ocean's Players Club and its a method of obtaining points for playing in their casinos.

You can buy chips at the table either with cash or your Sail and Sign card. Or you can buy chips at the cashiers window.

Effective last July, Carnival started adding a 3% charge for getting cash on your sail & sign card. You are better off bringing cash with you, or sending funds in advance if you don't want to carry the cash.

I contact the casino department before I travel, and arrange for an up-front deposit.

On the first day of the cruise, I identify myself to the casino manager. The funds are available, and I draw markers throughout the cruise.

Although Princess is going to be a Carnival Corp line now, OPC is not there yet for Princess cruises, right? So my April cruise on Princess probably will not be able to get any OPC benefits, right? Thanks.
