Carnival: Tokens or coins?

We are going on first cruise April 19th: something I read on here made me wonder if the casino slot machines use tokens (like land-based casinos) or if they use real American coins (quarters, nickels etc). Sorry if this is a dumb question and thanks for any info.

COINS!!! Not a dumb question, saved my quarters once and the slots (on shore) only took tokens,.

Very good question in fact.The Triumph uses coins in their "Underground" Cave-like arcade.

my last cruise have me winning quarters at the slots and turning them over to the kids for the arcade
