from my past experiences when you are in a slot tourney, there may be a small entry fee but i am pretty sure one and all start with the same amount, as you wel know jackpots are what pays more and more, so good luck. i see you are going on costa, the wife and i will be on costa mediteriena on the 10th of apr on the eastern carib.
I think it will be fun to try to win big, thanks Danny, Im on Carnival not Costa for this one, hope you have a great cruise, keep your fingers crossed for me also!
On my last cruise (Adventure of the Seas, Mar 05), the slot tournament was $20. There are 10 machines and all players start with 5 minutes. Players start and end at the same time and the machine keeps track of "your winnings". Based on the number of people who sign up (or reenter) determines the number of preliminary rounds. The top 10 scores then compete for the top prizes (depending on entries a 1st and 2nd place or 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place with a split of either 60/40 or 60/30/10). Each of the finalists was given a casino T shirt.
Your machine and round will be assigned either by a card number or some other predetermined selection so trying to pick the hot machine isn't a concern. In the final round, players pick the machine they want based on where the placed.
It's a lot of fun. I have finsihed 2nd and 3rd in my last 2 tournaments.
Thanks for the info! I've never entered a slot tournament before but always wondered how they worked. Do they set the machines to always play maximum lines/maximum bet or do you have to select that??
I only know about the tournament on Princess. It is different on some of their ships. It is a $20 entry fee and you play either rounds where 5 or 6 people are given 3 minutes to see who gets the highest score and then the highest score from each round compete for the monetary prizes or they set the machines to so many spins on the Sapphire P rincess and let people play all day with the tournament commencing at about 3:30 pm with the top highest scorers going on to a playoff round where the winner collects $500.
We were on Carnival Pride in January and the cost tof the slot tournaments was $10. I think they give you three minutes to play and it plays the max bet! I love to play the tournaments but I have never even placed in one! Good Luck$$$
slot tournaments and bingo makes alot of money for the ship.
a slot tournament was a 20.00 for entry on the Valor in Nov 05. they had I think, 10 machines each person paying $20. We got to play so many credits, till they ran out. The one who won the most credits back, got to go on to the final round. But if someone who had more credits won than the ones on the board already got listed also. the ones listed as the top 10 went into the final round.
There were about 10 qualifying rounds. 10 people per round @ 20.00 = 200.00 x 10 rounds = $ 2000.00 taken in by the casino. The top prize was only $ 500.00  :o
The bingo games, what a scam also. A room full of cruisers paying 10.00 for one board or 20.00 for 3 boards. The boards were only used for one game or round robin. top prize again maybe 500.00.
I think the bingo games should be like at our local church bingo halls. Pay $ 3.00 for 1 strip of boards which is usually 3 boards. And there would be more games in that strip of boards different colors.
I try to stay away from the bingo, it is a rip off. Also the Red White & Blue games that Carnival plays will get points for their color team if they won Whoopie Fxccng Do!!!
