What do you fellow gamblers think about the automatic shuffle macj\hines they use on the Princess ships these days. It concerns me that after each hand the dealer put the used cards into the machine, which then we are told are instantly shuffled into the many deaks in the big back box and the dealer then deals cards right from the machine. ANY COMMENTS?
ANYONE KNOW THE INERWORKINGS OF THE MACHINE???
I play Blackjack a lot but not when the casino has the Continious Shuffling Machines. I just got off a long cruise on Princess, needless to say I didn't play BJ. Also most cruise line casinos hit soft 17 at their BJ tables, incl Princess. A bad rule for BJ players.
In my opinion NCL is the only cruise line with decent BJ rules and no shuffling machines.

I dropped some coin on the last one and seen some things that defy statistics. This along with a long list of similar experiences from past cruises.
There is no one who regulates them and after seeing the CNBC show about how NCL sqeaks out every penny from cruisers I wouldnt be surprised if some things go on.
I'll leave it at that.
BJ can be easily manipulated and its completely plausable. This is on top of the bad rules like hitting soft 17.

You must be precise with the terminology: Continuous Shuffling Machine VS Automatic Shuffling Machine; they are not interchangeable terms. Must discussions concern the Continuous Shuffling Machine (CSM).
The CSM does not hurt the player, other than eliminating the break for the shuffle and speeding up play. Many players welcome the break caused by the shuffle.
There have been computer studies that indicate that the CSM actually decreases the house edge. However, the difference is so small that it is of no practical value

I have no problem with automatic shuffling machines, hate the CSMs - regardless of above, recommend they be avoided, especially if you track or count cards in anyway.
