The last paragraph of the aricle is as follows:
Cat Island a Hot bed of Controversy....
It was about two weeks ago when the public was made aware of the Holland-American cruise ship visit to Half Moon Cay. Workers refused to work as they were offended by the “lewd” actions of the visitors, Nottage said.
He said workers held a meeting with management and voiced their grievances, and that they rather not work while “those people carried out that type of behaviour”.
Other concerns the workers expressed were working 12-hours a day for $40 a day, bathroom facilities unavailable until the visitors arrive, better working conditions, acts of discrimination and other abuses which hamper productivity.
“This matter deserves a statement from the government,” Nottage said. “The principle issue is a bona fide labour dispute.”
I am interested in the story from the passenger's point of view. Were they just a victim of a labor dispute between the Cat Islanders and Holland America?
