We are sailing on the Grand Princess on 11/11/01. This will be our 10th cruise, although it is the first on on Grand Princess. My question has to do with flying. Has anyone done any flying, as a gay couple, since September 11, 2001. I am hearing horror stories about people trying to get through airports, being searched 4-5-6 times in one trip. Causing delays and missed flights. We are both in our 30's, gay, white, couple. Nothing out of the ordinary. However, I have heard from different sources about these type of problems. I got thinking that 2 guys traveling together to Florida may cause some problems for us. Has anyone had any recent experiences.?
My partner and I flew Sept 20 from Florida to Baltimore and back on Sept 24. I can tell you everything was fine regarding your worries. Security was a little tighter and they really searched your carry on bags; however, there weren't any huge lines in which people were waiting causing them to miss their flights. The stories about the very long lines and people missing flights due to security were mainly right after the airports reopened and the stranded passengers were trying to get home. I hope this helps.
