My partner and I are in Orlando, Florida, and the weather here has been beautiful for the most part this winter. 80 degree temperatures last week, but this week highs are in the 60's and sunny. Almost time to get the speedo out and get to the beach!Love it here! And love cruising! Would love to meet others in the area who want to cruise with us!
My partner and I live in the great Northeast.. New Hampshire to be exact... while we love the woods and our beautiful colonial home, we wouldn't mind some of that warmth and sunshine you all are talking about! Clear and cold here today... high in the 20's! Oh well... makes for nice snuggling weather by the woodstove or fireplace or under the flannel sheets! We sailed on Carnival in December, and are thinking about joining the Pied Piper gay group on the SS Norway.. anyone else out there sailing Memorial Day? Kevin
We're from Vancouver. It's cloudy, windy, cool [but flowers are trying to bloom already]. By the time the ships re-position here for the summer, it will be back to being wonderful. Anyone planning an Alaska cruise who has not visited here before should plan on a few extra days.
We are Fred & Steve from Fort Worth Texas, and will be sail on the Constellation Nov 30, from San Juan. We just sailed Carnival Spirit, it was ok, but we like Celebrity the best.
We're on the HAwaiian cruise too. We live in LaVista PArk. We went on the Caribbean cruise last year and had a great time. Would like to meet prior. We'll be at tha Marriott the night before.
Ken & Bob, San Francisco (at the intersection of Castro & Market). Next up is 5/13 Summit Honolulu to Vancouver, which is 3 months, 1 day, 21 hours, 48 minutes and 17... 16... 15... second from now. (I just love my countdown clock!)
Hey Tim... what a beautiful city you live in! My partner and I are cruising to Vancouver in August, and plan to spend the weekend afterwards in your city... where do you suggest we stay? Any good gay or gay friendly hotels? Last time I was there I stayed at the Pan Pacific, but I think we want to be more centrally located this time, as this is his first trip out there. My company has a connection to Vancouver in one of our branches, Dynapro, on Annacis Island.
Kevin
For hotels, in a similar league with the Pan Pacific, but very central and on a smaller/boutique hotel sclae, try the Wedgewood on Hornby Street, just off Robson. Another option would be the Coast Plaza at Stanley Park on Denman or, fine, but a little less pricey, the Listel O'Doul's on Robson. All are well situated.
For general information on the gay scene, the Xtra gay Canadian newspaper group has a website that connects with their Vancouver paper and should have up-to-daye listings.
The best hotel/restaurant guide around is Northwest Best Places [covers Ore/Wash/BC] - if you are looking for very good food this will help, and in Vancouver good restaurants are generally gay friendly.
Ideally, plan on some time to visit Whistler and Victoria once you've explored Vancouver...
We're from Washington, DC. Don't have another cruise scheduled yet but thinking about the Galaxy out of Bal'mer this August. How's that sound Hon? (Just trying to get my Bal'mer accent down right...)
Thanks for your input, Tim... looking forward to exploring! Would really like to get a little East to the town of Fernie... originally settled by some distant ancestors...! But I think we will save that for another time...Kevin
