Gay Windjammer Cruises
Has anyone here done the gay Windjammer thing before?

How was it?

Since they depart from smaller Caribbean islands, is the airfare prohibitive?

Does anyone have a link to any 2004 gay Windjammer cruises other than the 4/04 sailing?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Gay Windjammer Cruises
I did two weeks on the Mandalay (how apropos...) a couple years ago and it was a blast. Much smaller and more "rustic" than typical "foofoo" ships. The food is family style - nothing hoity-toity like lobster (but we did stop on Bequia, where they had incredible lobster pizza!). Free Bloody Marys for Breakfast, free rum punch for tea-time, free "wine" at dinner (wine-in-a-box class wines). You do go to smaller, less touristy islands, with far fewer tourists (a definite plus).
Have you tried ? They organized the one I was on and normally do at least 2 a year, plus Windjammer, itself, does one or two.

Re: Gay Windjammer Cruises
Forgot to mention airfare - it is a bit more, but, going thru San Juan, it's not too bad, and the Windjammerwest guys can give more info. Many of us went to Grenada (our starting point) a couple days early and stayed a day or two after - decent hotels, fairly cheap...

US Air has really been expanding their presence in the Caribbean... you might be able to find something good. Air Jamaica also does most of the little islands, connecting through Jamaiica...
