Default May 8 Diamond Princess to Alaska

Myself and a friend are sailing out on the Diamond on May 8th . Any others going? Those going to Mexico in March or April, let me know your opinions of the ship.

Thanks!

Thanks guys!

Read the reviews and checked out probably every picture taken. The ship looks spectacular and I'm getting very anxious! ;-)

This will be my first Princess cruise experience so it will be fun to compare to RCCL and Celebrity.

Thanks again!

Mark and everyone,

There is a fanastic new photo gallery posted of the Diamond ... just go Interactive Features and down to Photo Galleries.

It's right at the top from member Janelle.

Just wanted to point out that it's there.

Harry

Mark,
Just got home from the Diamond Mexican Riviera (April 24-May 1) celebrating our 25th Anniversary....balcony and all.
As promised, we are informing you that you will have the time of your life.

The Diamond is soooooo beautiful. My honey was an interior designer for Hilton Hotels and he said the designs aboard were just exquisite....the colors, appointments, lighting, carpet designs, ceiling design, room design, bathroom design, wall decor, use of space, and he could go on and on.
As a Food and Beverage Supervisor told us this ship is more of a floating hotel than a cruise ship.
Beyond the ship being eye candy for the designer in oneself, Princess will keep you moving if you like to partake in the many activities scheduled.

Have a great cruise!!!

Bob and Mike

Bob and Mike,

I am so happy you reported back! Sounds like you enjoyed the Diamond as much as we did on our 2-nighter.

Got any photos to post in the photo galleries?

By the way, I really appreciated your partner's comments on the interior design. I was so blown away by it all -- the anytime dining rooms truly felt like land-based restaurants to me. And, I commented to Art that the cabin decor was so subtle and chocked full of details that Princess did not have to do in the room (the crown molding, etc)

So happy you reported back, and thanks for making me antsy to see her again!

Harry

Bob and Mike

Thanks for the good words! I'm getting so anxious, it's hard to believe I'm leaving this week (finally)!!

I can't wait to get into my room and check out the Vista suite I was upgraded to. Also my first Aft room on a ship.

I'm sure this will be a fantastic experience on this cruise line.
It will be interesting to compare things on Princess vs. RCCL and Celebrity.

Thanks again, and I will report on my experiences when I get back!

Glad you had a great trip!

Mark

Mark,

I just did this ... go to www.cruisestateroom.com, and they will have a 3-d view of your cabin. Very cool.

Also, you will love the aft! The view of the wake is so gorgeous, and you get to enjoy it from your cabin, rather than one of the aft pool/spa areas. It's so much nicer than just staring at the calm ocean, which is wonderful, too.

And, off the record, looks like we booked the Diamond again.

Harry

It's a cool way to check out cabins, rather than the standard fish-eye view offered in the virtual tours (whcih makes everything look huge)
