Princess and gay cruisers

Just got off the Star Princess after an 18 day cruise from Sydney to Bangkok. On the second day out the Assistant Cruise Director placed in the "Princess Patter" and note that "Rainbow friends of Dorothy" would meet at 2 PM in Skywalkers lounge. Well, about 15 men came. We agreed to meet again that night at 7 PM for cocktails in the Wheelhouse Bar and to our amazement the number grew to about 30. Our cocktail waitress was overjoyed to have us as a group and the band played all the "anthem" songs that we gays just love. We even danced. So, a big thanks to Princess and our cruise director for their initiative. If you don't see a note in the Princess Patter the second day, approach the cruise director and ask that a note be placed. If he/she balks, escalate it.

We agree............The staff on the Star Princess are VERY welcoming to gays. We have twice been on the ship; first the inaugral, a 26 day cruise from Singapore to L.A. and lastly a 36 day Trans Pacific cruise in November/December 2003. There were more FOD meetings than I can remember in Skywalkers. After a couple of meetings on the last cruise, when we all got to know each other a little better, we arranged for two banquet sized tables in one of the main dining rooms on two different occasions and shared wonderful evenings together....... we had great food and service too. Thank you Star Princess for treating us the same way you would any other passengers, after all, we deserve it!
