Default We're booked - Diamond Princess 10/30

Hi folks,

*So* excited!!! I get to re-visit the Diamond Princess for a 7-nighter (after our 2-nighter for its pre-inaugural sailing in March)

We're sailing Oct 30th to the Mexican Riviera (again) but on this great new ship -- and this time we booked a mini-suite!

This is enough to get me through the hell of moving into the new house this month.

Just wanted to share -- it's a beautiful ship ... can't wait for the Personal Choice dining with 4 different style restaurants to pick from!

Harry

Congratulations Harry & Art! 7 days will be more fullfilling huh?

Did you know that Princess will be doing Mexico cruises from San Diego some time in the near future? I think it's either Saphire or Diamond. Will they fit at the SD cruise terminal? ;-)

That's the word from a Princess insider anyway.

Mark

Oh wow, I had not heard that!

I bet it's gonna be the Sapphire, because now they have it coming out of San Francisco for awhile, and I just read an article that cruiselines don't like leaving from SF because it makes the cruises longer (and harder to sell).

It should fit just fine, because the Spirit docs here, too, and it's a mega-ship, too.

Harry

How cool, Mark!

We did the 2-nighter on the Diamond before its pre-inaugural, and the entire time I kept saying, "We'll be back."

The ship had so much to offer that 2 days was far from enough time to enjoy it all.

If you are doing Personal Choice dining, I just read a review that the Sterling House steak restaurant is the busiest, and the writer said to make reservations for when you wish to dine there. (It's very easy -- there is a "concierge" button on your cabin phone, and you just tell 'em the time. I learned from our cruise on the Star Princess, though, to make reservations earlier in the day to ensure you get your specified time (I would say prior to noon).

Have y'all ever done Mexican Riviera before?

Harry

dear harry;

so for the long delay....we have only cruised the mexican riviera once when we did a full panama canal transit on the old star princess.

we have cruise princess many times, infact my partner used to work for princess many years and then for silverseas cruises..

we love princess cruises, as we find them extremely gay friendly and certainly look forward to this cruise...

we are actually doing 6 days prior in palm springs and 1 day after in long beach...
are u from the long beach area...we are staying at the hyatt or westin,,i cant quite remember right now...

sincerely,

marco & ignazio

Marco,

No, we live in North San Diego, but will probably stay 1 day before in the Long Beach/Torrance area before the cruise (it cuts the stress prior to leaving).

This is our 4th or 5th time to the Riviera proper (other cruises were to the Sea of Cortez and Acapulco). We are so familiar with the itinerary. Have good insight if you want.

Finally, we took tons of ship photos of the Diamond on our two-nighter. Just search the photo galleries under my name.

Looking forward to comparing notes with you prior to the cruise!
