Default Atlantis -San Diego - Mexico Oct 2004

Any other San Diegans going to be on board?
If you are coming in from elsewhere to board, let us know if you need any
San Diego information before you arrive. Steve & Vaughan

It is on the Radiance of the Seas.

Yes, Radiance of the Seas. We saw it early May here on its way to Alaska for the Summer. Looks fab. --S

Been wanting to finally get on the Radiance. I wonder whether RCCL is gonna start leaving her for Mexican Riviera permanently soon and replace the Vision.

Have no idea. I wouldn't really call this a RCCL cruise. Atlantis Events chartered the ship and its an all gay cruise.

I was just thinking outloud, in that the ship has done limited Mexico sailings ... and it's one of the newer RCCL vessels that can make it through teh Panama Canal.

Oh wow, so it has to go all the way down around South America to get to the Carribean?
Strange they would make them that big. Seems like that would add a huge expense as far as operating costs if they ever want to reposition.

Steve,

No it's the Voyager class that cannot make it thru the Canal. Radiance can. But it seems RCCL has been throwing all its eggs (new ships) in the Voyager class.

I guess I am just hoping for a new RCCL ship on the West Coast (like the Carnival Pride and the Princess Star and Diamond)

The Monarch is in San Diego every Tuesday and it looks like it (from the outside) has been around for awhile. The Legend is often here on Sundays. It seems a bit newer.

We're in San Diego too -- glad to hear that.

Yea, Monarch is about 1991 (with last year being refurbished) I think the Legend is 1997.

We saw the Radiance on its inaugural in 2001 when leaving from Ensenada on the Norwegian Sky (now Pride of Aloha) on a repositioning cruise.

I just feel cheated on the West Coast -- no Voyager class, so gimme the next best thing

:-)
