Hi, we are two male friends from France flying to Honolulu next December 13 to travel in the Wind departing Dec. 15 (10 days Honolulu to Honolulu).
Could anyone suggest us a confortable and not very expensive hotel (more or less 50 USD for double room) in the gay district of Waikiki beach ? We do not want a gay hotel but a general hotel or a gay friendly hotel. We do not know Honolulu and do not know what is the best side of downtown or Waikiki beach to stay for 2 days. Is it south Waikiki ? Is the gay district the best side of the beach?
Thank you very much for your help.
Re: HELP : we are looking for a hotel in Honolulu.
I would suggest the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. It's right across the street from Queen's Surf, which is the gay beach in Waikiki. Also, it houses Hula's, which is a Waikiki gay bar. Even though the bar is located within the hotel, the hotel is not exclusively gay, but is gay friendly. If this is not available, any hotel in this east end of Waikiki would be a good alternative. Waikiki is a walking district. A car is only a hindrance. Because there is so much foot traffic within Waikiki, you're never too far away from the "action".
Honolulu is the one of the most beautiful and fun cities on the face of the planet. Have a great time!

Thanks a lot for this message. We just booked this hotel and tell you our impressions later. We saw the Web page of this hotel and it looks really nice.
Some friends cruising in the Norwegian Wind Honolulu - Honolulu leaving next Dec. 15 ?
