Going through withdrawl and found a darn good rate for the last cabin on the Monarch of the Seas for Jan. 7th to Ensenada, so Art gets a surprise cruise for Christmas again. :-) I did the same last year on the Monarch, too.
It was a great rate for the weekender (Friday thru Monday--$254), and that way Art need not worry about being away from the business too long, and I hit Platinum on RCCL with this cruise and get prime rib. :-)
This should make up for only the shirt and DVD I had got him so far. :-)

I found a good fare on a repositioning on HAL from SAN to YVR the last day of April so that is the Christmas gift Beurt is receiving. It is a 4 nighter and only $560pp for a category S, Deluxe Verandah Suite. Air fare from YVR to PSP was a steal at only $108pp.
Like you Harry, that made a great addition to the other meagerly gifts.

We went on the Monarch this past January, too, and I really enjoyed the ship. After being on several mega-ships, it was a nice change to be able to navigate a smaller one in less than an hour. By the way, one tip -- it's a lot quiter (and easier to find tables) on the second floor of the Windjammer.
The cabins are *teeny* -- about same size as Viking Serenade. But I really enjoy the TV on RCCL -- Retro TV and the Classic Movies are great fare when you just wanna kick back.
Did you see the article I wrote about San Diego a couple months ago ... will give you some ideas of what you can do on your own.
I will be really looking at the food this time around, as well as checking out the corwd on a 3-nighter. That alone would be a great article.

Harry, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee take Deb and me with you and Art!!!! We can put a zipper around us and pretend to be luggage. Have fun Friend. We sailed the Monarch a couple years ago and although she was aging, we had a great time! Deb and I wish you and Art and your families very Happy Holidays!
