We plan on being on Maui Aug 8 and 9 on a NCL cruise.Would like to see Hana and Kihei for a starter. Can anyone give us suggestions a s the best way to accomplish, either by car, bus, tour line, etc.and what else to see or do. Many thanks
Try posting on the Hawaii board ... you'll get lots of good info. Also on the Princess board, there is a message link for people on the Get Lei'd cruise to Hawaii in January, and you will find several good posts with the some good tips.

I agree with with Rob M., the Hana experience is the journey NOT the destination. You can get a sample of the journey by driving toward Hana for about 45 minutes to an hour and then turning around and doing something else rather than 3+ hours all the way into Hana and 3+ hours return. Lunch is the only thing to do in Hana. Kihei is spread out and is a working beach town, so the main road through it always has traffic, but nice beaches on the side of the road. If you go all the way to the end of Kihei you will reach Wailaya, then Makena. Just beyond those two, you will find Big Beach and Little Beach. In my opinion these are two of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful beaches, in the world. Little Beach is just north of Big Beach and is slightly more secluded and is the unofficial nude beach. Needless to say there is a gay section to it. Have fun Maui is beautiful! Suggest renting a car for the day and they will give you a map of the whole island. You will have the most flexibility that way.
