As a Canadian, I am aware of this bit of news, that maybe those south of the border missed. Yesterday (July 12) the Norwegian Dawn sailed into Halifax with a large contingent of G/L passengers, a cruise hosted by Rosie O'Donnell, and a cruise whose purpose was to marry 10 G/L couples in Canada where this possibility recently became legal. Passengers, brides, grooms and their families were warmly welcomed by Halifax residents, and that included a bagpipe greeting! Children of these couples acted as flower girls and ring bearers, and lovely family portraits were taken. It was a heartwarming scene and I wanted to share it with all of you on this board.
I don't know how to do an actual link, but if you Google Montreal Gazette, click on Headlines and find "10 Gay U.S. couples tie knot in ceremonies on Halifax pier", there is a great article.
