Rome Hotels - Gay Friendly/convenient

Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced Hotel in Rome which is relatively convenient to the gay areas, bars restaurants etc. Any info on Rome also appreciated.

Thanks

I found that there isn't really a gay area in Rome but gay life was scattered throughout the city

I will have to second that. There are a few bars but they are not close to each other. I went to the Hangar bar and thought it was really cool. I thought the Italian men were really nice and I love it whenever I am there.

Thanks guys but it doesnt really help me with my main question/concern. Can anyone recommend a decent hotel which is reasonably priced and convenient for sightseeing.. any suggestions from your personal experience would be very helpful.

now where does one start in the eternal city?

are you interested in one star - two star - three star- four star

I have had much success using www.venere.com for italian hotels

Rome Hotels

We are trying to do this on a reasonable budget so Hotels in the $300/400 E a night price range are not our first choice. Something under $250 which would probably be a high 2 or low 3 star? There are lots of Hotels on the web in this catagory- problem is it would be best to choose one which has been recommended by other Cruisers!

oh i think you will have a lot of choices

the price of the hotel will vary with "when" you are in Rome - if a trade show is on prices go up

www.priceline.com is an excellent place to start

you might want to try something near Termini train station. You can catch a quick train to Civitaveechia (the port) at a moderate cost

also the rome Tourism sight is a great help
