I have booked a cruise with my boyfriend on the Carnival Pride, departing September 23, 2007. This will be his first cruise; my second. We are a gay couple and do not have any problem with PDA. We plan to have photos taken, hold hands and dance together if the mood strikes us. Any advice? Thanks
Tasteful PDA has never been a problem on otherwise straight cruise ships for us. But it's always a good idea (and more fun) to start building your circle of friends early on. We usually connect with other gay folks at the welcome party. You're going to Vallarta - that's good. Advice: get off the ship and cab (or if you're adventurous Bus) it down to Playa Los Muertos at the south end of town. It's about 20 minutes from the cruise terminal and it's the gayest part of town. Blue Chairs on the sand marks the spot (although you'll be at home anywhere in the area). Sunset on the Blue Chairs Hotel roof (or, Descanso Del Sol, I think) is a must.
PDA= Public Display Of Affection. I hope you guys have a safe and fun trip, my partner and I are going on a short cruise this Monday, it’s his first as well and he is apprehensive. We live in a predominately gay area so any time we go somewhere out of our little world we struggle with PDA and also about being out of the closet, he’s nervous but I am sure after meeting other gays at the FOD meeting we will fill at home.
