1[/b] day until MY next cruise! 8)
Western Caribbean - Roundtrip Fort Lauderdale
Ship: Grand Princess
Embarkation Port: Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Number of Days: 7 Embarkation Date: Dec 01, 2007[/b]
Embarkation and Departure is right around the corner! Don't forget to pack your Purell hand sanitizer and use the Purell sanitizing station on board. Remember... handrails, doorknobs and salt and pepper shakers are not your friends! (and if you happen to play the slots in the casino, those buttons are a petri dish of stuff just waiting to ruin your cruise!)
Well, I just received my cruise documents in the mail. Woo Hoo! That means it's almost time. But since I am the only one (so far) that has posted to this sailing, it may be I have the ship to myself!
No worries...I really can't wait for "Theatre under the stars" and theatre on the stage. Going it alone for the first time is scary...but I'm sure I'll find something to do! Of all the ships I've sailed on, the Grand Princess and the Golden Princess have been my all time favourites.
Less than a day away!!!!If you're on the Grand Princess on December 1st, 2007 Western Caribbean sailing from Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale give a shout!
I'm sailing "solo" for the first time in my life and even though I have served the first 18 years of a lifelong commitment , I just want to be sure I'm not the only FOD on board!
I too really enjoyed the movie! I saw the movie for the first time while I was on a cruise. We were with friends on that cruise and when they, the movie brothers, actors Michael Cain and Robert Duval started shooting at the fuller brush man (holy crap I just carbon dated myself!) my friends instantly said, that was me! We are very lucky to live on a fairly large piece of rural property and my friends often poke fun at my security measures!
I don't really know what a single fee is as you mentioned in your post, but I don't think I paid any less than if two of us were going. My friend said that he thought that if I sailed alone I would only pay 50% or so of the second person's fare, but I know I paid the same as if we had both gone. Maybe because I have to have a balcony room it made a difference, but I don't do the reservations. I am lucky that my friend takes care of all that stuff that bores me to tears....except the part where the check was written! That part I know I had to do this time around! The price was still fair I thought.....but since our very first cruise was Alaska in a full suite on Holland America's Statendam, anything seems inexpensive now! That was about ten years ago...and I swear sometimes I think my friend is still paying for that one....he bought me my first cruise...and it was awesome!

Well, this is my final landbound week. Saturday I sail...woo hoo!
See you aboard the GRAND PRINCESS Saturday, December 1st 2007
Well, the Glorious Grand Princess is steaming its way back to Fort Lauderdale to pick me up....yeah! Looks like I'm gonna be the only FOD onboard! Oh well.
So far the weather looks good for smooth sailing. I'm anxious to hurry up and start relaxing!
You all have fun on all of your cruises! Remember, life is not a dress rehearsal...this is the one. Live it to its fullest. Cram in a cruise whenever you are able!!!!
Until my next cruise....sail safe, sail healthy and above all have fun!
