When a cruise "deal" comes along and you don't have an available mate, it does help to have a good source to turn to for finding someone compatable to join you.
I am looking into several longer cruises and may need to find a good mate, too.
MAY 8: Holland America's Maasdam; Ft Lauderdale to Montreal, 15 days.
MAY 24: HAL's Westerdam; Alaska roundtrip from Seatlle, 7 days, $399 outside.

I am a 49 yo European professional and traveling for work to USA East coast soon. I want to take a short cruise out of FL. I was looking at Carnival Ecstacy or Fascination on April 18, 2013 for 4 nights but would like to share a cabin (with male passenger - ideally between 40 and 60 yo). Main purpose is to share cost and have a travelbuddy. Dates are not flexible and alternative port of departure could be envisaged,such as Tampa on board RCL Jewel to Cozumel.

For comparison to the much-reduced prices above of this 19 day/18 night transatlantic voyage via New York, take a look at their current sale pricing for a 7 night cruise, in this case, the cruise following. Note below the price of category 5-6 oceanview staterooms--originally $2400-2800 pp, now $1399-1599 pp plus port charges and government taxes, based on two in a stateroom (otherwise double--100% single supplement), which is about the same as the $1499-1649 pp plus port charges and government taxes for cat. 5-6 staterooms on the 18 night transatlantic, down from its original $2900-3200, above. I'm looking for a cabinmate/ roommate for the Princess Royal Transatlantic sailing from Rome to Manaus (21 days) leaving from Rome on November 28, 2009. It goes from Italy (3 stops) out through Gibralter to Tunis/Carthage, Morocco and Senegal before steaming across the atlantic and up the Amazon river into the heart of the Brazilian jungle!
