Partner & I are booked on Carnival Sensation to Nassau for Halloween weekend. Straight friend tells us onboard Halloween parties are fun and daring. What should we expect? Should we bring along a costume or a mask? Carnival has provided no info.
We are going to be on the Carnival Spirit doing the Mexican Riviera with the BajaBoyz!
I have been doing a lot of reading reviews from past cruisers over Halloween, and you are right, not a lot of information.
From what I have gathered... they do get into the spirit of things. I guess the crew starts wearing some sort of costumes, face paint, masks or something in the afternoon... and on some ships the CDs start speaking to those pax in costume about participating in something later in the night.
I don't want to be in a mask, hat or anything because I don't want to eat like that. So finding a costume that is fun, packs easy, does not interfere with eating, and comfortable the whole evening has been a challenge.
Some in our group are all doing the Wizard of Oz theme, so I can't imagine how much luggage the tin man will have to check!
Even if I don't win a prize, I intend on being comfortable. So I guess heels are out. te he....
Went on Carnival Legend a couple years ago on an 8-day cruise over Halloween. Although there were not as many people in costume as one might expect, we donned our masks and had a great time. You will be fine with or without costumes. I will say we did not see a lot of people in costume in the dining room.
There was a huge costume contest in the disco late night, which was a blast, and my partner and I had a fun dancing with each other and the other passengers.
Assuming you are on a shorter cruise, I'm guessing the crowd could be a little wilder as these tend to be more the party boats.
