Have any of you recently visited Egypt or taken one of the Nile Cruises? We'd be interested in seeing the sights, but have heard so many negative reports of gay intolerance in Egypt, that we're hesitant. Your thoughts?
Hi:
Don't know if you've made your plans yet but a few years ago our group of four took Abercrombie and Kent's Sun Boat II on a Nile excursion. It was fantastic! The boat is probably one of the most sophisticated on the river. It's intimate but not cramped. The staff were extremely friendly and the varieties of foods were a great experience. Aside from the boat, the ports and day trips all with dedicated guides and very comfortable new vans made the trip extremely educatonal and comfortable. Our pre and post cruise hotel in Cairo was the Four Seasons and we were checked into very large beautiful rooms. I'd suggest you go online and check out what they are offering these days. They are a class act and you will not be disappointed! We did not encounter any homophobia but nor did we go off the beaten path. It was a trip of a lifetime and I highly suggest you guys go!
