My partner loves volcanoes; just returned from Hawaiian cruise. Saw vol. national park on big island. Little disaapointing, lg. part of park closed because of new steam vent in the caldara. How inconsiderate of Kileaua(sp) Lol
Didn't know Celebrity would allow passengers on the helipad.
We were thinking the fantail might be a good viewing point.
If weather is good it is captains prerogative to open it or not.
As a frequent celebrity sailor I was invited to a sail away party on the helipad but it rained. They did open it on the crossing day for a few hours but you need to listen for the announcement. They might only call once or twice as you can't have that many people out at once and there were no signs or other postings. Many missed it when I talked about it later.
Also a good spot is on the buffet deck at the back where it's open.

Thanks for the tip on the helipad. We'll def. listen for the announcements.
We really enjoy the fantail area on the ship. So beautiful watching sunsets, watching the ocean...I'm so there.
