Default malaria

I am going on a the Seabourn Sun world cruise. I am concerned about taking the anti-malarial medication. I have heard that there are tremendous side effects. With just being in most ports for one or two days, it would hardly seem necessary especially since I will not be going out into the countryside. Any opinions or advice?

Default RE: malaria

I may be visiting Belize later this year and I was advised that I would only need anti-malaria medication if I was planning to spend a lengthy amount of time in jungle areas. My doctor said it would be unnecessary for a stay of just a few days, or in the cities or islands. Depending on which countries you will be visiting, this may or may not be the same advice you would receive.

You might want to consult your physician or do a little more research. Try <http://www.cdc.gov/travel> for the latest travel health information worldwide.

Good luck and enjoy that world cruise!
