I need to solve a problem. My mother's medicine comes in 3 month supplies in large bottles. We have been advised to take prescription medicines in their original containers but this does take up space. I was wondering if you have advice on getting smaller bottles or another solution?
I am guessing that by the size of the prescriptions, that your mother is getting them from a mail-order prescription service. If this is the case, it makes the solution a little tricker, but not impossible. Most times, I recommend going back to the dispensing pharmacy, and after explaining the problem, request special, LABELLED travel vials with the full presription information requirements on them. (See where it might get tricky?!) If they were purchased from a mail-order service, you will need to call the customer service line for that service, and pray for satisifaction. Some people believe that they can yjsut plop their medications into an unlabelled container, but your only legally tenable method of getting through customs with medications is in a properly labelled container.
