Default hole in ear and snorkeling

Before anyone tells me to yes, I have a call into my family doctor about this. However, I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice. I want to snorkle/scuba some time on my cruise next week. However, last summer I seemed to have blown a hole in my left ear. Is there anything I can do that will allow me to still participate in either of these activities?

I have encountered customers at my pharmacy with the same problem, usually children with tubes in their ears. Most EENT do not recommend deep swimming (naturally) but do tell their patients that if they must use stopples instead of regular plugs. You should be able to find these in the ear plug section. Stopples are plastic disc that can be molded by your fingers to make a more secure fit in your ear canal. Try them, you may have luck with em.
