Default Ginger Capsules for seasickness

Has anyone had success with ginger capsules? How many do you take per day...what time of day do you take them.....and what strength shouldthey be? I am sailing soon and don't want to take medication if I can help it.

Default Re: Ginger Capsules for seasickness

They work great for me. I took them on our cruise - bought them at WalMart, and took two in the morning. My sister in law was feeling a little quesy at dinner, I went to my cabin, got some ginger pills and gave them to her. By the time the main course was served, she was feeling great.

The real test of Ginger for me came on a trip to Disney World with my daughter...In the past, I could not handle any rides that were remotely "rough". She wanted to do the spinning teacups. Being a good dad, we got in...and she wanted to go FAST. So we did. And I suffered no ill effects at all. On our flight back from Disney, we had to pass thru some rough air. Again, I wasn't bothered in the least. The added benefit is that you aren't drowsy, like some motion sickness medications can cause.
