12 yr old and meds
After reading many posts I am planning to try Bonine for seasickness. I've had it before and just don't want to take the chance, so plan to start right away and take it every day. I don't know if my 12 year old will experience seasickness and wonder if I can give him Bonine at 12 yrs old and if I should start a couse with him right away or wait to see if he gets sick? Any advise? (First time cruisers we are!)

We've used Bonine for our children. They have it in a chewable at Walmart. I only give it to them (and use it myself) as needed. The last two cruises we've had really smooth seas and I only needed two pills for a seven day cruise, two kids didn't need any (they're the two that can ride any ride at an amusement park, including the upside down rollercoasters), and one kid needed two. I've found they work pretty quick. Another thing that I've found helps is getting out on deck into the fresh air and drinking gingerale. Good luck! Darcy |

As a mom x 4, I would say never medicate a child needlessly. Don't give it to them until they show signs of it.
