Malaria Cases

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share what I heard about on the news last night. It seems that due to the hurricanes and flooding in the Dominican Republic this year there is an explosion in the mosquito population there. So far there has been about 8 or 9 reported cases of travelers contracting Malaria there. Right now there are two patients here in Canada that are on life support because of this. Most doctors are not aware of this problem , which is delaying diagnosis and treatment. So if anyone here is traveling to this area please be aware of the problem.

Thanks for the warning, I've now cancelled my cruise over Christmas and New Year will now spend it at home

I didn't want anyone to cancel their cruise. You can get some pills to take before hand in order to protect yourself from getting this disease.
