Default calmer waters in E carib or W carib

Hi everybody. We are thinking about going on a cruise in May on either the carnival glory or valor. My question. Are the seas calmer in the western caribbean or the eastern caribbean? Thanks for your help!!!

The seas are calmer in the Western caribbean. We cruised in 5/03 and 5/04, both western, and sears were very flat. Doesn't mean they could have waves at any time. We were just in the Eastern Caribbean jan/05, and it was very rough. Was in the southern caribbean 4/03, very calm. Was in the bahamas, (atlantic) march, 04, and pretty calm.

Hope this helps out.
