Default Smoking

Hello everybody. I am a complete novice and have never been on a cruise. I am considering an inside passage to Alaska cruise but I have asthma and I am worried about smoking. Even if people just smoke outside, I don't think I could tolerate it. Anyone else bothered by smoke? Any suggestions? Thanks!

The Celebrity ships that we have been on only allow smoking in public areas on the portside of the ship. No smoking is allowed in the dining rooms. Unfortunately, it is okay to smoke in one's stateroom no matter what side of the ship you're on. Wish they would designate only one side for that, too. But, in general I would say that smoking shouldn't interfere with your cruise. I have found that most people these days are very sensitive to the smoking issue...except maybe in the casino. Try and get a balcony stateroom if it's in your budget, that way you'll have lots of fresh air. You will love a cruise to Alaska...have fun!

Smoking is allowed on outdoor decks, private balconies, and the lounges have smoking sections.

If smoking, even outside, affects you this drastically, I wouldn't think a cruise is a good idea!

If you're that sensitive, you probably can't tolerate life! Why don't you wear a spacesuit?

Does anyone have a definitive answer to whether smoking (Cruiseguy-"regular tobacco")--is allowed in the staterooms on board the Paradise at the present time?

You know they do have some non-smoking cruises. I have had friends who have gone on them and loved it. I don't know who offers them, but you might want to check with travel agent

Smoking is allowed on the Paradise, it is no longer a non-smoking ship.
