Default ship size vs seasickness

Our first cruise was to Alaska in mid-September aboard the huge Diamond Princess. It is new and is supposed to possess the best in stabilizers, etc. We had an inside cabin at a lower level, yet many passengers and many crew became seasick in the 12-15' waves we encountered.

We plan to cruise to Alaska again this September, and are considering the much smaller HAL Ryndam. Are we going to be more suseptible to seasickness on this smaller, and older ship? Any comments on this ship?

Any advice or opinion is appreciated. Thanks

Depends on the person - not the ship. Even the big navy aircraft carriers have rough seas. Scroll through this area, there's a bunch of posts about seasickness.

From my experience the smaller and older ships the stabilizers are not as good as the newer and bigger ships and so yes you do feel more movement on the smaller ships.
