Default swines flu

I am going on my first cruise and going to the med on the independence of the sea and am rather concrned as I am taking my 8 month old granddaughter. In view of the current problem of Swine fluand in view of the age of my granddaughter should I cancel.

Any advice and observations would be appreciated

Stu

I would not cancel before talking with your local health authority and your travel agent. Ask each of them about the area you are traveling to.

I would add the child's pediatrician to Bill's suggestion.

There is more chance of your Grandchild getting the virus at home in my opinion unless the countries you are going to have been placed on an "at risk" destination. I would check out the relevant health web sites.

And from my knowledge the Med is fine, or lets say its as much at risk as a cruise in the Carib!

Choice, either wrap up in cotton wool or get out there. I still think this swine flu "thing" is more media hype than the reality of catching it.

"I would add the child's pediatrician to Bill's suggestion"

Why???? unless they have underlying health problems as a child that could be compromised by taking swine flu, then I agree. But the poster never gave that indication, so a panic response from some.

If its a healthy child, I dont see the risk or reasons for changing your plans
