I would seriously recommend taking a cough suppressant before you try to board. They are getting almost ridiculously serious, almost paranoid about this. I have nasal allergies and take a daytime anithistamine before we go to the ship to board.

I would also certainly take a note from my Doctor stating that I had just been seen and that the cough is from the medication.

I'd have it faxed to HQ for the cruiseline tagged with the booking number etc. too.

Good Idea!
I sure would hate to be denied boarding due to a cough that was because of medication.

I assume you are on a Beta Blocker, if questioned I would produce your prescription bottle for inspection by the ship's medical staff who should be able to verify that side effect. My wife and I used to be part time medical staff on HAL and believe most docs and nurses will be able to confirm your statements

Must admit I've never came across a bad cough caused by beta blockers or any form of High blood pressure tablet. Are you sure thats the reason?

DayvedB Yes Beta blockers are known to cause a coughing response in some patients, secondary to their effect on the airway components, which is why they are used with caution in Asthmatics and COPDer's. Lisinopril or Zestril is an ACE inhibitor and while less likely to have this action has been known to cause a cough response in a limited numbe of patients
