Amsterdam

Why is Holland America using the same name of the dining room on the Rotterdam for the Amsterdam? And why does the Amsterdam have tha same stacks? I always thought the Rotterdam was the flagship and that usually means it is the only ship with that design. If anyone could clear that up?!

RE: Amsterdam

Amsterdam is indeed a sister ship to the Rotterdam, the first one. That makes her a special ship, which is why we chose to do a Cruisemates cruise aboard her in March. details --> <http://www.cruisemates.com/Articles/CMcruises/amsterdam.cfm>

The dining room on ALL the Holland America ships is called the Rotterdam Dining Room out of respect for the home port for the ships and the center of the Dutch shipping tradition.
