Are cabins quiet on Statendam?

Hi, I'm going to be cruising to Hawaii next year on the Statendam. This is my first time on a cruise. We booked a verandah suite on the same deck as the penthouse. Our only concern is that, looking at the deck plans, that this deck is right under the Lido dick (where buffets are held). Especially since there are midnight buffets.

Are ships well sound-proofed? Will we hear noise from the buffet?

There are mini-suites on another deck, but this deck was above the deck with the casino, so that sounded noisier.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

I doubt that you will hear anything. Unless your room is under the pool deck, I think you will be fine. I have seen posts from people under the Lido who hear nothing. The Lido is carpeted, so noise should be minimal. Also, although they have a late night buffet, I don't think it actually starts at Midnight anymore, so it should be fine. You are staying in the finest suite deck, I can't imagine they would put their highest paying guests in anything but the best! I took that cruise last October, and loved it. I am thinking about doing it again next January or Feb.
