Default Outside Guarantee vs. Outside Run of Ship Guarante

Can someone explain the difference between these two types of guarantees? I am concerned that my outside guarantee may not have the priority of a run of the ship guarantee, even though I made my booking 3 months earlier and for more money.

I purchased an outside guarantee in July as part of a flash sale. Today HAL introduced another flash sale for the same cruise but called the discount an outside (and inside) run of ship guarantee. The outside version is cheaper than my outside guarantee fare.

Does anyone know how HAL works these "guarantee fares". My main question will I get my cabin before the run of the ship guys. Tthe fact I booked early in July shoul also have a bearning? Right?

The difference is that the inside/outside run of the ship means that you could potentially end up in an inside cabin. If I understand you correctly, you have an outside guarantee, usually more expensive the the alternate, and you are guaranteed that your cabin will have a window, at minimum. I have done that before and been completely satisfied with the cabin we were given. It was on Main Deck, mid ship, really perfect! You should be happy with your selection!

Sports Fan,

The only difference is, you paid more, and therefore will receive a better cabin. These "flash" promotions are used to fill up the ships. The cabin assignments are made about a week prior to sailing, when they do the assignments, they'll look at the price you paid, when you booked, and your "mariner status". You're supposed to get a better cabin than the people that paid less and/or booked after you.
