after my initial look and posting to this board I marked everything "read" thinking that the next time i looked at the board only the new items would be marked
"new" but alas this is not the case. i realize that i must be doing something wrong or just not doing something. What do i have to do to make only the new stuff marked "new" someone please help me there is enough confusion in my life already

i also find the message board tricks too confusing. can anyone tell me in American how to take a cartoon figure and add it to my mail

That's a very good question - when you find out the answer I would also like to know. There is no semblance to "new" posts, They are all over the board. What I do is scroll down to see if there is anything new by date. I can't figure out why all the "new" posts can't be in order and at the beginning. This probably sounds confusing also.

There have been many posts written about "how to insert" the cartoon figures - that's another one I still have not been able to figure out. Over on Cruise@addicts, they give you a list of expressions, etc. and tell you how to type them in, but this cartoon business is beyond me. Let's see if this works -

Nope didn't work with a funny face. Other problem with this board is that you cannot delete or edit after you have posted. Wonder what has happened to CC. I too was there, Lou.

Dizy
all i heard is that "there have been problems" on the cc board. not that thrilled here without the ability to be able to seperate new from old and from read
maybe the answer is out there and our guardian poster has not read our problem yet. come to think of it i have not seen any cartoons or other add ons to messages. maybe you just cant in spite of what the board says.

What works for me is: After I finish reading all the "new" posts", I click "Go to Top" and
that removes all of the red "new" notations.

i do the same thing and the next time i am on the board ALL the messages are marked new again. almost like i have to make a paper and pencil list of the topics ans # of posts so i can know if someome has posted to an item i am interested in
bring back cc. also on cc once you are logged in you dont have to "relog" everytime you want to post

It looks to me as if you have some sort of cookie removal software running. This site has cookies for each of its boards and I always only see NEW on unread messages when I return.

Ok.. though I'm certainly no expert on our message board software, let me try and explain.
Many of the message boards have different software. The CruiseMates boards are not set up to move threads to the top when a new post is added. Instead, new threads show up on top, and responses to old threads are left in place.
U have the choice of reading posts in "threaded" or "flat view". Once u've read a thread there should be no red "new" showing next to that thread.
U can also see which threads have new posts by the date and time noted for the last post to that thread.

U can also check the box below the message box when u respond to receive via e-mail all responses to that thread.
Another feature available is to attach a picture to your post. U can do this by clicking on "Browse" about the message box, then locating the picture u want to attach either in your hard drive, or on a disk.

To embed images in your message, they must be located somewhere on the web.
In the message box, u then type in [img] [/img]
U include the entire URL of the picture or image u want to post inside the quotation marks.
Hope that helps some in understanding the CruiseMates message board format.

Regards,
Kuki

Oops like I said I am no expert.. when I typed in the formula for inserting messages I didnt leave blanks, so the software assumed I was including an image

Lets try it this way < img src=" " >

Only dont have a space between the < and img or a space after the " before the >
Just eliminate the spaces and include the URL of the image u want to embed between the quotation marks.

Regards,
Kuki
