The refrigerator goes under the dressing table where the stool normally fits. On most newer ships, they have a 110 and a 220 plug. On those ships, the refrigerator is plugged into the 220 outlet. On the Statendam, it was plugged into the 220 and left the 110 for us to use if needed. We always take a six outlet power strip just in case and have had to use it occasionally. The stool goes anywhere you can fit it but we always find a place. Usually at the end of the bed next to the short wall between the bed and the dressing table. Makes a great place to put stuff like souvenirs instead of loading the couch. We always use the bathroom for getting ready so I don't need to sit at the dressing table to put on makeup. The only problem is that sometimes the power cord gets in the way but we have figured out a new use for duct tape...
We went to Alaska on the Galaxy last September and they have a mini-bar in the refrigerator in the cabins. We simply took everything out, placed it on top of the refrigerator area and used the refrigerator. At the end of the cruise we put everything back and our cabin steward never said a word. There was no charge to use the refrigerator that was already there. I always take a Brita Water Pitcher with me (better than buying bottled water and I can't stand the taste of ship's water) water. It fits in the door of the small refrigerators on HAL. That leaves the rest of the refrigerator for wine, cokes, beer, and snacks...
