dog sled rides

we are taking an inside passage cruise in august and my wife has her heart set on a dog sled ride- has anyone done this before. any and all impressions and info would be appreciated

kuki - read your dog sled report with a great deal of interest. thanks for making it available. a few questions: did you go august of this year?? what was the cost??
can you give me a time breakdown?? entire time for trip??? helicoptor ride??
and most important actual time spend sledding. from what i read you really had a good time. appreciate your response

We were on that cruise a year ago Aug.. summer of 2000. The price I believe was right around $185, if I recall. The entire tour from ship, to heli pad, to glacier and back to the ship was around 4 1/2 hrs.
About 1 hr flying time, and a couple of hours on the glacier. The sledding was maybe 45 minutes or so.
I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

appreciate your response. if the cost for next year was 185.00 i would trip over my own feet getting to it. the cost is now 300.00 pp would you do it again in a heartbeat if the cost was 300.00

YUP!!! Even for $300 I would do. One of those experiences that is worth every penny.
